by Carl RogersThe Isle of Anglesey Coast Path runs for over 200km (125 miles) through some of the grandest coastal scenery in Wales: wide sandy bays and estuaries, intimate coves, dramatic cliffs and rocky islets, sand dunes and forests. Much of this coastline is designated as one of Wales' five Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
This official guide book to the route has been prepared by Carl Rogers, an author with extensive knowledge of the island and its coastal path. Rosie Frankland, Coastal Path Project Manager, has provided supporting information throughout the text. It has been designed to provide all the information needed to both plan and walk the coastal path. Planning information includes accommodation options, use and frequency of public transport, seasonal closures and tidal restrictions and a distance chart. The walk itself is described in twelve day-walk chapter sections with detailed route description and mapping. There are also comprehensive notes on points of interest encountered along the way. The book is beautifully illustrated with colour photographs and contains an introduction to the island.
The starting points of the 12 sections are: Holyhead; Trearddur; Four-Mile Bridge; Aberffraw; Newborough; Moel-y-don; Beaumaris; Pentraeth; Moelfre; Amlwch Port; Cemaes; Church Bay.
