This book is a detailed, practical and colourful guide to the 90 mile long distance walk across the glorious high country of the Yorkshire Dales. The route starts from Saltaire in West Yorkshire and crosses some of the finest and most spectacular scenery the Dales has to offer, finishing at Appleby-in-Westmoreland in the lush Eden Valley. The return journey is made on the famous Settle to Carlisle line - the most beautiful railway in England.

The guide contains large scale coloured maps for every two to four miles of the route, and these are full of detailed helpful directions. Many interesting photographs and informative descriptions of the history, geology and the culture of the area are included. The guide suggests walking the route in 8 day stages. The book has received excellent reviews from the press and walkers since its publication in 2008.
