East Devon Way
by: Norman Barns

The East Devon Way provides a 40 mile (60km) regional route through the rich and varied countryside of the East Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Along the route the walker can fully enjoy the character of quiet Devonian countryside, with its dramatic views and welcoming villages. The route is described eastwards, from Exmouth to Uplyme and passes through Lympstone, Newton Poppleford, Harpford, Sidbury, Farway, Northleigh, Colyton, Musbury and Combpyne Rousdon. By returning along the Coastal Path National Trail, the AONB can be appreciated as a whole, in a circular route of 65 miles. In addition a number of self-guided circular local walks enable the walker to spend more time exploring distinctive countryside.

This guide provides comprehensive information for the casual user and the visitor on a walking holiday. The route description is supported with clear maps and illustrated by local artists and photographers. The guide provides a colourful portrait of the landscape and wildlife of the inland area of the East Devon AONB.
