Along the route the walker can fully enjoy the character of quiet Devonian countryside, with its dramatic views and welcoming villages. The route is described eastwards, from Exmouth to Uplyme and passes through Lympstone, Newton Poppleford, Harpford, Sidbury, Farway, Northleigh, Colyton, Musbury and Combpyne Rousdon. By returning along the Coastal Path National Trail, the AONB can be appreciated as a whole, in a circular route of 65 miles. In addition a number of self-guided circular local walks enable the walker to spend more time exploring distinctive countryside.
