Pushing out into the sea from the coastline of north Wales is the picturesque Lleyn Peninsula. The 95 mile coastal path leads around the peninsula from Caernarfon to Portmadoc, crossing a variety of landscapes from rocky cliffs to secluded bays, with the coast always nearby. This guide describes the entire route of the Lleyn Peninsula Coastal Path and includes information about facilities along the way, including accommodation, shops and refreshments. It also includes a selection of shorter circular walks suitable for day excursions.

The Lleyn coastline offers much variety, from mudflats to summits in excess of 1800 feet, from sand dunes to rocky cliffs, from some of the oldest rock in the British Isles to some of the youngest, and from untouched working villages to popular seaside resorts. The guide describes the route in seven sections each including essential facts, a detailed route description and OS Landranger mapping with the route highlighted. There is also a fascinating commentary on all the points of interest along the journey which greatly enhances the enjoyment of the walk. The sections are: Caernarfon to Penygroes; Penygroes to Nefyn; Nefyn to Aberdaron; Aberdaron to Abersoch; Abersoch to Pwllheli; Pwllheli to Portmadoc. The ideal way to walk this route is to tackle one stage each day, making it a week long adventure.

This book has three uses. Firstly, it is a guide to the Llyn Peninsula coastal path, which it fully describes in 11 sections. Secondly, it offers selected circular car based walks incorporating some of the finest sections of the coast, each walk being approximately 4 miles long. There is a least one car walk for each of the route section chapters in the guide. Thirdly, the book includes a beach guide to the 19 finest beaches in Llyn. The Llyn coastline offers some magnificent walking as most of the coast has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Each of the sections includes detailed walking instructions, a sketch map, points of interest and practical information. The sections vary in length, but have been chosen because accommodation is available at the start/end points.
