The Navigation Way
by: Peter Groves and Trevor Antill

The Navigation Way was the first long distance canal towpath walk to be created. Starting from the centre of Birmingham, and encompassing fourteen West Midlands canals, it takes a meandering course through varied urban areas rich in historical associations, and through delightful countryside, until terminating at Chasewater reservoir.

The route of the Navigation Way itself is divided into twelve sections providing a series of walks ranging from just over 5 miles to 11 miles. However, you can easily shorten or lengthen your excursions to suit your personal preference. In addition the guide contains 10 canal link walks providing circular walks exploring attractive countryside in the vicinity of the canals.

The guide provides comprehensive information about everything of interest along the way, making sure you get the most out of this fascinating journey through the history of the canal system.
