Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail Guide
by: Roger Ratcliffe

The Wolds Way is the 127km National Trail over the gently rolling chalk hills between Hessle Haven and the cliffs above Filey. Beginning by the Humber estuary, you can follow the Countryside Agency's acorn waymarks through wooded slopes and valleys, past the deserted medieval village of Wharram Percy to the geological curiosity of Filey Brigg.

This is the complete official guide for the long distance walker or the week-end stroller. All you need is in this one book which describes the entire route and splits it into convenient sections. Also included are 1:25,000 Ordnance Survey maps for each section marked with points of special interest. Also included are shorter walks off the trail, enabling you to explore the local area. There is route information on each section with colour photographs and notes on nearby features. Background information on local history, wildlife, archaeology, geology, industry and land use are included. Practical information includes details of public transport, villages on or near the route with facilities for walkers, useful organisations and accommodation, including camping sites.

Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail Guide

Cleveland Way & Yorkshire Wolds Way
by: Paddy Dillon

Here is a guide with an imaginative itinerary which links two National Trails using the Tabular Hills Walk to create a continuous long distance walk of 400km (250 miles) broken down into 19 day sections. Complete this journey and you will have experienced an amazing variety of scenery and a walking adventure you are unlikely to ever forget. Of course, you do not have to walk the whole route; this book is equally successful as your guide to the individual Trails or to day walks along any of the sections.

The routes in this guide take you on an exploration of the rich and varied Yorkshire countryside. The Cleveland Way National Trail (177km) offers a fine walk around the North York Moors National Park, enjoying scenery that includes open heather moorlands, gentle dales, interesting towns and villages and dramatic cliff coastline. The Tabular Hills Walk (80km) is a regional trail that allows you to close the loop of the Cleveland Way and transform it into an enormous circular walk. The Yorkshire Wolds Way (130km), one of the quietest of Britain's National Trails, wanders through gentle, cultivated and sparsely populated countryside, and links to the Cleveland Way on the coast.

The entire route is illustrated with Ordnance Survey Landranger mapping supporting the text and showing the route highlighted. There is plenty of additional information on points of interest along the route together with numerous colour photographs. This information is contained in separate panels to easily distinguish it from route finding instructions.
