As soon as you enter the bookshop area of the Walking Pages website you are connected to a secure server (SSL), which will be confirmed to you by the appearance of the golden padlock on your IE browser window. Similar secure server identification symbols will appear in other browsers. This ensures that any personal information which you enter during the purchasing process is safe and secure.

Once you proceed to the checkout screens of the ordering system the full cost of your order, including post and packing charges, will be confirmed. When you click the button to go the the credit card payment function you are transferred from our secure server to the e-secure payments system of HSBC plc. This award winning payments system uses the very best security systems and incorporates 'Verified by Visa' and 'Mastercard Securecode' checks. This is totally managed by HSBC and is nothing to do with Walking Pages Ltd. After satisfactory completion of the transaction HSBC will pass you back to our secure server. So the entire ordering process is carried out on a secure system.

To enter the bookshop directly, cick on 'Books' in the top navigation bar. This will take you to the bookshop main index page, which may open in a new window. You can also get to specific sections of the bookshop directly via the many guide book links throughout the site.
The book catalogue is organised geographically, so it is quick and easy to navigate to the area that interests you. All the guides for that area will then be listed with full details and price. The prices shown against products do not include post and packing. This will be shown seperately when you proceed to the checkout stage. To select a book for purchase simply click on the 'Add to Shopping Cart' button.
You can find out about our post and packing costs by looking at the 'Post and Packing Charges' page before you go to the bookshop.

The function of the navigation buttons you will see once you have transferred to the bookshop are explained below:

Clicking the 'Info' button will bring up our terms and conditions, delivery charges, contact details and other information.

Clicking the search button will bring up a database form. here you can enter the name of the place or area in which you are interested. You can search by all or any of the words you enter, but we recommend you select the 'All' option. Click the search button and the database will return a listing of books with your search words, giving book title, catalogue section and price. Click on any of the returned book results to obtain full details. Use the 'Back' button on your browser to return to your search results and select other options. Be as specific as possible.

Click on the 'View Cart' button and you will be shown a list of items you have selected to purchase, together with their price. If you change your mind at this stage you can easily cancel an item from your shopping cart.

Once you have completed browsing the shop and made your selection clicking checkout will take you to the first order confirmation screen, where you will see the item(s) you have ordered listed together with delivery charges and the total order cost. During the checkout stage you also have the option to give an alternative delivery address and state any special requirements (e.g. book is a gift and you want it gift wrapped). Once you are happy with your purchase click the confirm button and you will be taken to the HSBC plc server for credit card payment processing.
Once card processing has been completed HSBC will pass you back to the Walking Pages bookshop and the order process is complete. You will receive an automated email from us confirming your order details and that it is being processed. You credit card will not be debited until your order is actually ready for shipping, which may be the following day.
If, for any reason, we cannot despatch you order within 48 hours we will advise you of the reason by email. If we decide to ship part of your order you will only be charged for the value of the items shipped plus proportionate post and packing charges.
