The Midshires Way is a long distance footpath and bridleway across Middle England, approximately 360km long. It links the Ridgeway with the Trans Pennine Trail and then to the Pennine Way, thus opening up the possibilities of a long walk along the length of England. From south to north, the Midshires Way crosses Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and the Peak National Park, before reaching the Pennines near Stockport, in Greater Manchester.

For the most part, the Way follows public bridleways or quiet country lanes. Wherever possible on road sections, alternative footpath routes have been waymarked to assist walkers. The Way links the Ridgeway with the Trans Pennine Trail.
