Two Castles Trail
Location: Devon; Cornwall
OS Maps: Outdoor Leisure 28; Explorer 112; 111
The theme of this route is the linking of the two Norman castles at Oakhampton and Launceston. Of the two Launceston is probably the most impressive. Although only the keep remains, it is sited dominantly on a hill overlookng the town.
The route initially follows the northern perimeter of Dartmoor decending to follow the Thrushel valley westward. It is possible to walk short sections of this trail as there is a bus route running parallel and connecting at several points.
