William of OrangeThis 350 mile long distance walk is a walk in the footsteps of history, along a route that encompasses a reminder of England's heritage. It follows the march in 1688 of Prince William of Orange and his army from Brixham in Devon, across the English countryside to London. It meets rivers and canals, crosses great plains, goes over hills, and through towns and villages but is never far from an overnight hostelry, railway station or bus route and does not require awkward positioning walks to join or exit the route. It links the walker to the unfolding story of the 'Glorious Revolution', highlighting the relevant events which took place along the route.

Completing this entire route at one time is quite an undertaking and it is likely that you will want to complete it in stages at different times, or you may just intend to walk a particular section that interests you. The route lends itself to all possibilities, but in proposing a walking itinerary we have assumed a single continuous walk with daily walking distances of between 10 miles and 20 miles, depending upon the locations of accommodation.
